In a day and age where corporate social responsibility is a prerequisite for companies to hold positive standings within their communities, traditional community involvement has become just another box to check for many corporations.

At Baker Barrios Architects, our commitment to our community is not just another item on our to-do list, it is something that each and every member of our company takes personally and seriously. Because of this shared attitude, our team seeks out initiatives that truly make a difference in each of the communities that we serve.

Although we make a point to give generously all year round, the holidays provide a unique opportunity to go the extra mile and make a difference in the lives of others. We want to encourage all of our employees and clients to continue to give generously this holiday season by sharing some of the initiatives that we have been a part of this year and what we have planned for the future.

It’s been a busy year for us, and starting with our headquarters in Orlando, the holiday spirit is already in full swing. We kicked off the season with a dinner date at Advent Health to benefit Ronald McDonald House, and then coordinated a food drive for the Pearlman Emergency Food Pantry during the month of November. Over the course of the month, we helped raise/donate about 140 pounds of food, coordinated a turkey giveaway for Patty Sheehan’s Annual Turkey Giveaway and volunteered with Daily Bread to serve the homeless population in Central Florida.

In December, we are looking forward to a bike giveaway and toy drive in partnership with Baby DJ, and are planning for a blood drive with One-Blood in January.

In Tampa, we wrapped up a back-to-school drive this fall and are now participating in a toy drive for Metropolitan Ministries. Our team is also volunteering with onbikes, an organization that delivers kids in need and foster children. Onbikes will be holding a “bike-building” event in December for families to come put together brand-new bikes for their children, free of charge. We’ve also participated Paint Your Heart Out Tampa, an effort to paint the homes of low income, elderly Tampa residents, and have taken part in the IOA Corporate 5k in both Orlando and Tampa.

We have also been busy outside of Florida! In Nashville, we had the privilege of making a donation to Project C.U.R.E., a foundation that collects healthcare supplies to send them to hospitals in locations that need them.

To all of our employees – we are so proud of the passion and generosity that you bring to our communities every day. We are honored to have you on the Baker Barrios team and look forward to all the opportunities we will have to serve our communities in the future!
