UCF Downtown Creative Village

Construction is set to begin on a project we have been excited for since its inception: the downtown Orlando Creative Village. The Creative Village will be home to UCF Downtown, the new UCF expansion into the heart of Orlando. The mixed-use development will include not only a 600-bed student housing complex but also new shops, restaurants and other housing options for students, residents and visitors to downtown Orlando.

Though we are still a way’s away from students living, studying and sleeping in this innovative downtown space, the Orlando City Council unanimously approved the development agreement in October and should be complete by August of 2019–just in time for UCF’s fall semester.

We cannot wait for this new, exciting space to come to life with the anticipated 7,700 students set to come in from both Valencia College and UCF. More than just a treat for new students, this space has a chance to revitalize Orlando’s already bustling downtown scene, creating a new hub of shopping, dining and nightlife and the economic benefits that come with it.
